With today’s growing demands for security and multimedia applications, even the simple network requires certain degree of intelligence beyond the plug-and-play connectivity. In response to customer’s need for more control of their network, Netgear has introduced the “Unmanaged Plus” switch that delivers network monitoring, traffic prioritization and VLAN. It is designed for small growing offices and advanced home users. Designed as an upgrade from the plug-and-play Unmanaged switch, the Unmanaged “Plus” allows the users the option to do some simple network set-ups, such as dividing their network into small groups to enhance efficiency and security, prioritizing traffic based on users or data types. On top of it, the Unmanaged Plus switch also offer a lot of userful network diagnostic features. The users will be able to monitor the network traffic on the port-base, and be able to troubleshoot the connection problems via cable test. Plus, as the first in the industry, the Green feature for power-saving is offered on these Fast Ethernet Unmanaged Plus switches. The switch comes in a sturdy metal case with fan-less design for quiet operation.
